UVM Bookstore

In consideration for being allowed to rent textbooks, I agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. I understand that the rental textbook is the property of the UVM Bookstore. I accept the responsibility to use the textbook in a reasonable manner, returning it to the UVM Bookstore in a resalable condition without excessive highlighting. The UVM Bookstore reserves the right to assess and determine reasonable resalable condition.

2. I understand and authorize the UVM Bookstore to charge the debit/credit card the replacement price (listed below) if the textbook is not returned within five working days of Saturday, May 14, 2011. The replacement price of a used textbook is the used textbook price, plus applicable sales tax, minus the rental fee.

3. I understand that I will be charged a $5.00/day late fee if the textbook is not returned by Saturday May 14, 2011, up to a $25 charge. After five days, you will be charged the replacement price and returns will not be accepted. The $25 late charge will be applied to the replacement cost of the textbook.

4. I understand that if the original textbook rented to me with its documented serial number is lost, stolen, or damaged in any way, including but not limited to damage by liquids or torn book covers, that causes the book to be no longer resalable that I am responsible to pay the replacement price of the textbook within my possession. Replacement textbooks purchased from other sources is not acceptable.

5. I understand that if the rented textbook is not returned by the designated deadline of Saturday, May 14, 2011 that I will not be eligible to participate within this Textbook Rental Program during the following, subsequent semester.

6. I understand that all identifying stickers/labels on the textbook must remain intact and must not be removed or altered.

7. I understand that if I drop a course for which I have rented a textbook, the rental fee is refundable only if I return the textbook no later than 5:00 p.m. of the last day of add/drop. I must bring with me the original receipt and a printed revised class schedule showing the course has been dropped.

8. I have read fully and understand the provisions and terms of this agreement as outlined above, and by signing below I agree to adhere to all conditions and terms as stated.
